TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Bobby Lazor had 23 points and nine rebounds Saturday, leading Arizona State to an 87-66 victory over Oregon State that snapped the Sun Devils' three-game losing streak.
Lazor, who also had six assists, had 12 points in the second half to become the school's first two-year player to score 1,000 points, finishing with 1,007. Paul Stovall set the record with 989 in 1970-72.
Eddie House had 16 points and seven assists and Mike Batiste scored 15 points as the Sun Devils (14-12, 6-8 Pac-10) avenged a 30-point loss in Corvallis, Ore., last month.
Jason Heide led Oregon State (12-12, 6-9) with 18 points, Deaundra Tanner had 15 points and eight assists, and Ramunas Petraitis had 13.
Lazor had a tipin and a three-point play in the first 4:05 of the second half to help Arizona State, ahead 48-27 at halftime, turn back Oregon State's attempts to avoid their eighth consecutive road loss and their fifth in the last six games.
Arizona State jumped out to a 48-27 halftime lead and then held the Beavers at bay in the second half.
The Sun Devils made only two of their first 18 shots against Oregon two days before. This time, they were on from the start, sinking eight of their first 13 to take a 23-10 lead 7:28 into the game. They had eight 3-pointers at halftime and were 11-of-21 on 3-pointers for the game.
Tanner had five points as the Beavers pulled within 25-19 with 9:50 to play in the first half. But Oregon State went nearly eight minutes without its next field goal, and the Sun Devils opened a 45-23 lead.
