The Arizona State men’s golf team sits tied for 10th-place after a darkness-shortened first round from The Prestige at PGA West in Palm Desert, Calif. The Sun Devils have shot a combined five-over par through 15 holes, and trail the leader, TCU, at six-under par. All Horned Frog golfers have completed their first rounds.
Only six schools have shot under-par to this point, three of which are Pac-12 schools in USC, Washington and UCLA. ASU will enter Tuesday’s play six shots behind fourth-place.
Max Rottluff once again leads all Sun Devil golfers tied for 24th-place. Rottluff has finished ahead of his teammates in both of the first two tournaments this spring and is coming off back-to-back top-ten finishes. Through 15 holes he remains at even par and one stroke behind 12th-place.
At one-over par and tied for 35th are Mathias Schjoelberg and Jon Rahm, one stroke behind their teammate Rottluff. Alberto Sanchez is at three-over par and is tied for 60th.
Four golfers are tied for first at four-under par.
Tuesday will see the conclusion of the first round followed by 18 holes of the second round. Live scoring for The Prestige at PGA West will be available here.
