TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State redshirt junior outfielder Andy Workman has been named Second Team Capitol One Academic All-American. Workman is the only student-athlete from the Pac-10 Conference to earn Academic All-American honors. He also earned First Team Academic All-District VIII honors. Workman is the 13th Sun Devil to earn Academic All-American status in baseball and the first since Mike Leake was named the Academic All-American of the Year in 2009.

Workman (Chandler, Ariz.) graduated with a degree in Finance in early May, carrying a GPA of 3.94. Last season he won the Elite 88 Award for highest grade point average at the College World Series. Workman is batting .317 with three homers and 18 RBI this season. He was a First Team Academic All-Pac-10 selection in 2009 but missed the entire 2010 season with an injury, making him ineligible for the honor last season.
