WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - Arizona State scored eight runs in the eighth inning to surge past Oklahoma State 13-5 Saturday night in the NCAA Midwest Regional.

Oklahoma State (40-20) went ahead in the fifth with a five-run outburst on five singles and two Arizona State errors.

But with Arizona State down 5-3 in the seventh, Sun Devil rightfielder Mikel Moreno drilled a two-run home run to tie the game. Moreno was 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBI's.

With the score still tied in the bottom of the eighth, Arizona State leftfielder Dustin Delucchi drew a leadoff walk, then advanced to second on a wild pitch by Oklahoma State reliever Thom Dreier. Michael Collins later doubled to score Delucci for the go-ahead run.

Arizona State (37-22) eventually sent up 13 batters in the inning.

Chad Pennington (6-2) pitched two hitless innings to pick up the victory in relief of starter Richy Leon.

Oklahoma State starter Jon Adkins went five innings before giving way to Jeremy Krismer (3-2), who gave up three earned runs in two innings to pick up the loss.

Arizona State will play in the championship game Sunday night against the winner of the Sunday afternoon Georgia Tech-Oklahoma State game.
