TEMPE, Ariz. - Senior third baseman Andrew Beinbrink and junior Willie Bloomquist continue to rack up All-America honors in 1999. Baseball America named Bloomquist a first-team selection while Beinbrink was a third-team pick.
Bloomquist, hailing from Port Orchard, Washington, was drafted in the third round of the 1999 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners earlier this month. His .394 career batting average ranks third all-time at ASU while his 72 career stolen bases ranks fourth.
Beinbrink, a native of San Diego, California, was a seventh round draft pick of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays earlier this month. Beinbrink ends his ASU career as the all-time leader in RBI (283), runs (245) and total bases (547). His .368 career batting average ranks 10th all-time at ASU.
