BERKELEY, Calif. - The Sun Devils withstood a late rally as ASU downed the California Golden Bears, 27-17, in Berkeley, Calif., on Sept. 29.

Quarterback Taylor Kelly connected with wide receiver Kevin Ozier twice and tight end Darwin Rogers once, and ASU used six sacks to take home a victory at California Memorial Stadium for the first time since 1997.

Will Sutton, who tied a career high with eight tackles (six solo), was a constant in the Cal backfield as he collected three sacks and forced a fumble en route to earning Pac-12 Player of the Week honors.

BOULDER, Colo. – Wide receiver Rashad Ross returned the second-half kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown to break open a close game, and quarterback Taylor Kelly threw three scoring passes to tailback Marion Grice in Arizona State’s 51-17 victory over Colorado on Oct. 11.

Grice caught touchdown throws of 37, 16 and 20 yards from Kelly, who threw for 308 yards and five TDs with no interceptions thanks to a steady diet of successful screen passes. He also tucked it and ran for 67 yards through huge chunks of open space all night long.

Ross’ kickoff made it 27-17 and jump-started a 31-0 second-half onslaught by the Sun Devils.

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Sun Devils scored both early and late but fell to No. 2 Oregon 43-21 at Sun Devil Stadium on Oct. 18.

Playing in front of a sold out crowd, the ASU defense came out firing on all cylinders. Defensive tackle Will Sutton forced a fumble on the second play of the game and the Sun Devils scored on the next play to take an early 7-0 lead.

Oregon scored all 43 of its points in the first half with the first points coming on a 71-yard touchdown run by running back Kenjon Barner and a successful two-point conversion.

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Sun Devils led UCLA, 43-42, with just 1:33 left to go in the fourth quarter after quarterback Taylor Kelly hit running back DJ Foster for a 7-yard touchdown pass, but the Bruins drove down the field for a 33-yard field goal to win, 43-45.

ASU's final drive, which started at their own 44-yard line, lasted six plays and 2:03 minutes and was highlighted by a 32-yard run by Kelly that put the Devils inside the red zone. Consecutive rushes brought up third-and-five for ASU on the 7-yard line before Kelly found Foster in the corner of the endzone.
