  • Well-rounded Libero with superb athletic ability.

2015 Sand Volleyball (Senior):

  • The dynamic duo defeated the No.2 pair against USC, No.1 nationally ranked program. 
  • Holding a 2-6 record competing at the No.1 seed and a 9-4 record competing at the No.2 seed.
  • Currently holding a 11-10 win/loss record with partner, Bethany Jorgenson.
2013 Sand Volleyball (Junior):
  • Finished the season with a pairs record of 5-8 with partner McKenzie (Kizzy) Willey while competing all year in the third position. 

  • The pair won the program's first match against Arizona Christian at the Arizona Invitational in two sets (21-12 and 21-15).

  • They beat Arizona at the Arizona Invitational after two sets (21-18 and 23-21). 

  • Competed against CSUB at the Pac-12 Tournament and won 21-18 and 21-11. 

  • Beat Boise State after two sets (21-12 and 21-11). 

2011 Indoor Volleyball (Freshman):

  • Redshirt Freshman.

High School:

  • A 2011 graduate of Point Loma High School in San Diego, Calif. Was a four-time letter winner for the Pointers under co-head coaches Mike Placek and Davis Kansen.

  • Played setter and libero positions, Checkal was all-league, team MVP, and captain for four years. Also played varsity soccer her freshman year.

  • Made the honor roll twice and was named the Union Tribune All-Academic Athlete her senior year (2011).

Full name is Jordan Lyn Checkal. Parents are Brian and Michelle Checkal of San Diego, Calif. Has one brother, Dillon. Born Feb. 20, 1993 in San Diego, Calif. Majoring in special events, with a minor in family and human development. Brother played baseball at UC San Diego, cousin Clayton Marzo is a professional surfer, and cousin Noah Ransik plays baseball at Hibert State.
