2004 Outdoor: Moved into ninth on the all-time steeplechase charts with an 8:56.81 that earned him 10th place at the NCAA West Region meet...scored at the conference meet with a sixth-place finish in the steeple event...earned three Top 3 finishes in the steeple on the year, including first at the Arizona State Invite, second at the Double Dual and third at the Sun Angel Classic...earned Second Team Academic All-Pac-10 honors... 2004 Indoor: Holds a spot in the Top 5 all-time lists in two events, ranking fourth in the 3,000m run (8:15.84) and third in the distance medley relay (10:26.83), both recorded this season...ran in two individual races on the year while recording his personal best time in his only 3,000m run (Pac-10 Invitational)...also took fourth in the mile run at the Double Dual... 2003 XC: Ran in five races for the team...placed 31st at both the conference and regional races...was 11th at the Dave Murray to open the season and 10th at the ASU Invite...earned Academic All-Pac-10 Second Team honors... 2003 Outdoor: Improved on his 3,000m steeplechase time in each of the five races he competed...scored for the team at the Pac-10 Championships with a sixth-place performance...personal best 8:55.59 was recorded at the NCAA West Region (10th place)...his time is the 10th-fastest in school history as well...won the Double Dual in 9:08.55...placed third in the 2,000m steeplechase at the Arizona State Invitational...eighth in the 5,000m run at the Sun Angel Classic... 2003 Indoor: Owns the fourth-fastest time in school history in the 3,000m run at 8:20.81...placed third in the Pac-10 Invitational with his season-best time...opened his collegiate career by winning the Boise State Invitational in 8:35.53...also placed second in the Double Dual (8:44.48)... 2002 XC: Ran in five races for the Sun Devils and established himself as one of the Top 7 runners on the team...finished fourth on the team and 25th overall at the Pac-10 Championships...conference meet time of 24:47 was his best of the year, a 25 second improvement from the Pre-National meet...finished fifth on the team (39th overall) in his first NCAA regional event.
High School: A graduate of Franklin Community High School (Franklin, Ind.)...ran for Doug Drenth, brother of ASU cross country coach Walt Drenth, and lettered four times each in cross country and track...captured the 2001 state cross country title...earned team most valuable runner honors in cross country (1998-01) and track (2001-02)...cross country honors also include all-conference (1998-01), all-county (1998-01), all-state (1999-01) and second team all-Midwest in 2001...track accolades include all-conference (2001-02), all-county (2000-02) and all-state (2001-02)...also holds two school record times.
