The Arizona State women’s golf team dropped from the top spot on the leaderboard in Saturday’s second round at the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tenn., but it still remains in second-place with one round to go. After leading the 15-team field at 3-under par Friday, the Sun Devils shot 5-over on Saturday to fall to 2-over overall, giving way to Pac-12 foe UCLA to consume the lead.

ASU is five shots behind the Bruins heading into Sunday’s final round, but five shots ahead of third-place North Carolina State.

The senior/freshman duo of Justine Lee and Monica Vaughn lead the way for the Sun Devils and are tied together at even-par, good enough for a tie for ninth. The pair has shot even-72 in both rounds.

Junior Emilie Alonso rests three positions behind her teammates in 12-place and 1-over par. She tied for a team-high four birdies in the second round with Lee. Senior Laura Blanco will start the third round in 21st at 2-over par, while junior Noemi Jimenez rounds out the Devils in 33rd-place at 5-over.

Elizabeth Brightwell of Virginia leads all individual golfers at 5-under after a round of 69 Saturday. Erynne Lee of UCLA and Augusta James of NC State trail by two strokes.
