TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil Baseball will hold its annual Halloween Costume Practice on Oct. 30 at Packard Stadium.
The evening will start at 5 p.m. with a home run derby and will be followed by a practice. Fans will then have the opportunity to join the team on the field afterward to take photos, get autographs and play catch with the student-athletes. Admission is free.
“This a great chance for our student-athletes and staff to not only kick off the 2014 season, but also have some fun with our loyal fans,” head coach Tim Esmay said. “We encourage all of Sun Devil Nation to come out and wear costumes with us, and at the same time learn a little more about our team.”
Fall practices at Packard Stadium begin Oct. 21 and run through Nov. 26. Practices are open to the public, and will be held Monday through Friday of each week and will typically run from 2:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. Parking will be available on the first level of the Packard Dr. South Structure for $2 an hour.
SDA Ticket Sales and Service staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide select-a-seat tours. Season tickets are still available and start at $99.
The Sun Devils open the season with a three-game series against Baylor beginning Feb. 14 at Packard Stadium.
Packard Stadium, which opened in 1974, has played host to two national championship teams, 18 NCAA Regional tournaments and more than 1,100 Sun Devil victories. The entire 2014 season will be a celebration of this iconic ballpark as every era of Sun Devil baseball will be honored, long-time season ticket holders will be recognized, and former players and moments will be remembered.
Purchasing season tickets will give fans first opportunity and priority at selecting seats at Phoenix Municipal Stadium in 2015. Other benefits include reserved lot parking and vouchers for the annual tournament in Surprise, Ariz.
Fans can purchase tickets by phone at 480-965-5333 or by visiting the Sun Devil Stadium Ticket Office, located at the south end of Sun Devil Stadium.
