The Sun Devils used the run of eight consecutive points to take a 12-9 advantage before Washington used a run of its own to go up 18-16. ASU tied things up at 22 points apiece via a kill by Garner and a Washington attack error. The Huskies then used three consecutive points to win the second set, 25-22.

In the third and final frame, Washington started off with a 7-1 run, before taking the set and the match, 25-16.
