HONOLULU, Hawaii—In a strong showing on the springboard events in a trimeet against Hawaii and Utah, the Arizona State diving team won two of the four events, Sunday, in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Back in form after sitting out most of last season with a thumb injury, senior Riley McCormick won the men’s 3-meter springboard event with a score of 391.90. Narrowly placing second on the men’s 1-meter with a score of 328.50, McCormick set Zone E qualifying times in his first events of the year and has an automatic pass into Zone E postseason competition.

Sophomore Morgan Weller, last season’s Pac-12 Freshman Diver of the Year, won the women’s 3-meter springboard with a dominant score of 333.10. Weller bested second-place Aimee Harrison of Hawaii by 35 points. The sophomore’s score on the 3-meter is also a Zone E qualifying score.

Junior Hailey Casper finished fourth on the women’s 1-meter with a score of 258.15 and finished fifth on the 3-meter with a score of 243.60. Freshman Hunter Atha also took fifth on the men’s 3-meter springboard with a score of 292.25 and sixth on the 1-meter springboard with a score of 249.80.
