Former Arizona State football standout Herm Harrison passed away Nov. 2. He was 71.

Harrison, a tight end at ASU from 1960-63, finished second on the team in receiving in 1963 as he helped lead the Sun Devils to an 8-1 record and a 35-6 Territorial Cup win over Arizona. He ended the year with 23 catches for 371 yards and four touchdowns.

His 763 career receiving yards and eight touchdowns on 50 catches were both a school record among tight ends, and his career yards and touchdowns still rank as the ninth best and fifth best career marks at the position, respectively. He collected 22 wins in three years as a starter.

Harrison, who played for Calgary in the Canadian Football League from 1964-72, helped the Stampeders win the 1971 Grey Cup title and was a three-time CFL All-Star. He was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1993.
