SUN DEVIL DIGITS: The Sun Devil men's hoops team (22-13; 9-9/tied for sixth in Pac-12), averaging 93 points per game in the 2-0 start, hosts Idaho State on Friday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. on Pac-12 Networks (860 AM). ASU is 18-4 at home in the past two seasons, and that includes wins over 2013 NCAA Tournament teams Colorado, California and UCLA.
HERB WESTHEAD: The Runnin' Devils have scored at least 90 points -- 96 vs. UMBC and 90 vs. Miami (OH) -- in back-to-back tilts for first time since February 17 (104 vs. UCLA) and 19 (93 vs. USC) of 2000 when Eddie House was doing his thing (along with Sun Devil radio analyst Kyle Dodd). The last time ASU scored 90 in three straight tilts? Bill Frieder's bunch on Jan. 30 (99 at Oregon), Feb. 4 (90 vs. Cal) and Feb. 6 (109 vs. Stanford) in 1993.
JORDAN BLOCK-CHYNSKI: Jordan Bachynski (188 blocks) needs just four more swats to break the Sun Devil career record held by Mario Bennett of 191 set from 1991-95

DON'T BLAME US: Scoring in D-I men's basketball was at its lowest since 1951-52 last year (67.5 ppg). Meanwhile in Tempe, ASU went from averaging 61.0 ppg. in 2011-12 to 71.8 ppg. in 2012-13.
ON THAT SUBJECT: Since Jahii put on a unie for the first time ASU is 24-13 and averaging 72.9 ppg. In the 37 games prior to Jahii, ASU was 13-24 and averaged 61.7 points per game.
SECOND GAME RECAP: ASU hit 16 three-pointers, tied for fourth-most in Sun Devil history, in its 96-91 win over Miami (OH) on Nov. 12...11th time ASU dropped 90 under coach Sendek and first time since 1999-2000 in back-to-back games...+21 rebounding margin (48-27) third best by a Coach Sendek team at ASU and best margin since 23 vs. Central Connecticut State on Dec. 29, 2008...36-point win biggest margin since a Dec. 12, 2009, 42-point win over Delaware State (76-34)...ASU had 18-point contributions from Jermaine Marshall and Jahii Carson (matched career high with eight assists) and 16 more from Jordan Bachynski...Bachynski had his second-straight double-double for first time in career...ASU had 26 assists, second-only in the Herb Sendek-era to the 29 it had vs. San Francisco on Nov. 20, 2009.
FIRST GAME RECAP: ASU topped UMBC 96-61 on Nov. 8 in the earliest start date in school history...five Sun Devils posted double-digits, including 19 from Jermaine Marshall's in his debut as Jahii Carson also posted 19...Jordan Bachynski added 12 points and three blocks and matched career-high with 15 boards...96 points marked fifth-most points by ASU under Coach Sendek...ASU's 44 free throw attempts was its most since it shot 47 vs. Western Mich on Dec. 30, 2003...Sun Devil first-year players saw 97 minutes.
WE GIVE YOU AN OVERLOOKED STAT ON JAHII: Jahii Carson's 488 field goal attempts last year was the most by a Sun Devil since Eddie House jacked up 623 in 1999-2000 (also by design). Jahii’s 488 shots were in the top 30 for field goal attempts in the NCAA and most by a freshman. Dig deeper, this is good...when you break it down, only four of the top 30 shot leaders were more efficient from the field from Jahii. He made .473 of his shots (231-of-488). Only Virginia Tech’s Erick Green (.475), BYU’s Tyler Haws (.479), Creighton’s Doug McDermott (.548) and Nate Wolters of South Dakota State (.485) shot a better percentage from the field than Jahii. Then digest this...you can probably count the number of easy rebound putbacks on one hand for Jahii (he had 16 offensive rebounds), and he averaged 5.1 assists per game.
