TEMPE, Ariz.—Arizona State women’s golf head coach Melissa Luellen announced today that Ashleigh Greenham and Roberta Liti have signed letters of intent to study and play golf for the Sun Devils.
Greenham, a native of London, England, is one of the top junior golfers in England, ranked sixth among girls and 16th among ladies in the country’s ranking system. In the course of winning the Essex School Championship, Greenham broke her own course record by shooting a 65. She also was chosen as a member of the England Select Squad and represented England in a U16 match-up against Spain, winning her singles and foursome matches.
“Ashleigh is a very talented player who has lot of potential to be a great player,” said Luellen. “She has spent the past three and a half years at a very demanding school in London and earned top academic honors. I feel strongly that she will blossom with our great weather and facilities.”
Liti, a native of Tuscany, Italy, is a member of the Italian National Team and competed for her home country in the 2012 World Amateur with Sun Devil alum and LPGA professional Giulia Molinaro. Liti also finished runner up at the Girls’ British Open Amateur Championship.
“Roberta committed to ASU two years ago,” said Luellen. “Her mentor and role model is Giulia Molinaro, a recent graduate and new member of the LPGA Tour and whose game went from good to great in her four years here. Roberta wants to follow her same path. Robi is very in love with the game of golf and Missy and I are excited to helping her in her path to graduation and professional golf.”
Greenham and Liti will join the Sun Devil women’s golf program in the fall of 2014.
