SUN DEVIL DIGITS: The Sun Devil men's hoops team (15-5/4-3 in Pac-12) travels to Haas Pavilion to take on the California Golden Bears on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 8 p.m. PT on the Pac-12 Network and 860 AM. ASU then takes on Stanford on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 1 p.m. PT also on the Pac-12 Network (620 AM locally on radio). California is 10-0 at home this year. ASU won the only game with California last year in Tempe, 66-62 on Feb. 7.

JORDAN NOTE: Jordan Bachynski, the nation's leading shot blocker with 88 (4.3 per game), is blocking one of every 13.5 opponent field goal attempts.

THIS IS AN EYE OPENER: According to the NCAA updated stats and its "toughest schedule" chart, as of Sunday night ASU's future opponents are 98-35 (.737) against all D-I teams other than ASU, which is the third-best percentage in the nation. ASU's opponents are 20-0 (Arizona), 15-6 (Colorado), 14-6 (California and Utah), 14-5 (Oregon), 13-6 (Stanford)  and 11-8 (Oregon Sate). Only Michigan (130-45/.743) and Texas Tech (108-38/.740) have a better remaining schedule when it comes to opponent records.

BO KNOWS HOOPS LAST THREE GAMES: After transferring from Hawaii where he made a freshman school record 57 threes in 2010-11, last year Bo Barnes made four shots and had 13 total points in 11 games and 78 minutes. In the past three games he has played 64 minutes, is 8-of-15 (.533) from the field, 6-of-12 (.500) from three and is the team's third-leading scorer at 9.7 points per game.

JORDAN AT THE FREE THROW LINE: In his first three season of Pac-12 play, Jordan Bachynski was 88-of-160 (.550) from the free throw line. This season through seven Pac-12 games, he is 30-of-37 (.811).

MARRIOTT POINTS: Games in opposing arenas have been a good thing for Jahii Carson, who has averaged 21.3 points in 16 true road games. His top four scoring games are all away from Tempe and he has averaged 21.0 points in 21 road/neutral games. Last year he averaged 20.8 points in 38.4 minutes, shot .514 (75-of-146) from the floor and had six 20-point games in nine Pac-12 road tilts.

JAHII CARSON'S FOUR 30-POINT GAMES
40 at UNLV (11/19/13)
34 vs. Stanford at Pac-12 Tournament in Las Vegas (3/13/13)
32 at Washington (2/2/13)
30 vs. #14 Creighton in Las Vegas (11/24/12)

ASU 72, COLORADO 51 (JAN. 25, 2014): ASU led by as many 25 in the second half and won its third straight in the series vs. Colorado, holding the Buffaloes to just 2-of-11 from the three-point stripe and forcing 19 CU turnovers, including 11 in the first half...Jahii Carson led ASU with 18 points and six rebounds...Jonathing Gilling had 12 points off the bench as seven Sun Devils scored at least seven points...ASU was 17-of-21 from the free throw line.

SO MANY BIG GAMES LEFT: One peek at the Sun Devil schedule shows tons of big opportunities, as ASU has 11 conference games left including RPI heavy teams Arizona (2), Colorado (23), Oregon (40), California (47) and Stanford (53). ASU does not play the Washingtons or the LA schools again. In its final 11 games, ASU has eight games against teams in the 53 of the RPI.

JAHII GOT HIS 1,000 QUICKLY: Jahii Carson enters the 56th game of his career Wednesday at California  with 1,015 career points (18.5 points per game). Only two other Sun Devils reached 1,000 points quicker than Jahii, and they are familiar names. Ike Diogu reached 1,000 in his 50th game, while James Harden did it in his 52nd. Only one other Sun Devil scored 1,000 points in his first two years, and that was Bobby Lazor. He had 1,077 career points in 62 career games (17.4 points per game) in his two-year Sun Devil career (1997-99) after two seasons at Syracuse. Bobby reached his 1,000th point in his 58th Sun Devil tilt.

BLOCK-CHYNSKI!: Jordan Bachynski's NCAA-best 88 blocks is more than 251 Division I teams and 17 more than any other player as of close of business Monday. He needs just 33 blocks to break his own Pac-12 season record of 120 blocks set last year. Next up and sixth on the chart is Taj Gibson who had 100 in 2008-09. He also needs 10 blocks to set the Pac-12 career mark held by Anthony Cook of Arizona (278 from 1985-89).

PAC-12 CAREER BLOCKED SHOTS
1. 278 – Anthony Cook (Arizona), ’85-89
2. 269 – Jordan Bachynski (Arizona State), ’10-present

THIS IS A GOOD THING: In the first three seasons of his career (89 games), Jordan Bachynski averaged 6.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.03 blocks. This season he is at 12.0  ppg., 9.0 rpg and 4.4 bpg. Jordan has a double-double in 10 games, after entering the season with five in his first three seasons.

JORDAN'S FIRST THREE SEASONS COMPARED TO THIS YEAR
2010-13 (89 GAMES): FG%: .570; 6.6 PPG.; 4.3 RPG; 2.0 BPG
2013-14 (20 GAMES): FG%: .591; 12.0 PPG; 9.0 RPG; 4.4 BPG

NCAA LEADERS: Jordan Bachynski has a chance to lead the NCAA in blocks. Three Sun Devils have led the NCAA in official categories. Jeff Pendergraph shot 66 percent from the field in 2008-09, Ahlon Lewis averaged 9.19 assists in 1997-98 and Dick Daugherty shot 87.2 percent (75-of-86) from the free throw line in 1953-54. Radio analyst Kyle Dodd can lay claim to the unofficial NCAA record with a 4.73 assist-to-turnover ratio back in 2002-03 (104 assists and 22 turnovers), but the NCAA didn't officially start tracking the statistic until 2007-08.

SHAQ IN PAST 11: Senior transfer Shaquielle McKissic has one year to play and is making the most of it in an efficient manner. In the past 11 games, he is averaging 11.5 points and 5.3 rebounds while shooting .513 from the field (40-of-78). In those tilts he is 38-of-51 (.745) from the free throw line and has 24assists and just seven turnovers. On the year he has 42 assists and just eight turnovers and leads the team with 26 steals.

MARSHALL, MARSHALL, MARSHALL: Don't sleep on this. In two high-intensity wins where every bucket was needed (UNLV and Marquette), Jermaine Marshall was 15-of-28 (.535) from the floor, 6-of-13 (.462) from the three-point stripe and posted 21 at UNLV and 20 vs. Marquette. Want more? In the second-half of those nail biters he was 10-of-14 (.714) from floor. He has 1,150 career points and 154 career three-pointers in 108 career games.

HE'S A MAN, HE DROPPED 40: Jahii Carson became the fourth Sun Devil to drop 40 (seven times) when he went 16-of-25 from the floor and had 26 second-half points in the Nov. 19 86-80 win at UNLV.
