The Arizona State University football team will host a free Sun Devil Youth Experience Clinic on Saturday, March 22 at Sun Devil Stadium.
The free youth clinic will begin after the Sun Devils’ spring practice and is open to boys and girls, ages 8-13 and who are not enrolled in 9th grade or above. The clinic is entirely free of charge and open to the first 700 youth to register.
The clinic gives young athletes the opportunity to work with Sun Devil Football Head Coach Todd Graham, the 2013 Pac-12 Coach of the Year, and his staff, which includes Deputy Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator Mike Norvell, a nominee for the 2013 Broyles Award given to the top assistant coach in the nation, Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Line Coach Chris Thomsen and Co-Defensive Coordinator Chris Ball, as well as current student-athletes from the defending Pac-12 South Division Champions.
The participants will be led in four 10-minute segments, going over form tackling, ball skills, running, and blocking, vital fundamentals for football players.
Registrants are required to fill out the registration form found in the PDF at the top of this page as well as complete the waiver and medical treatment release form that is also found above. Both must be filled out and returned either by mail, email or fax to Jill Adams, whose contact information is located on the registration form. Pre-registration is required and registration will not be accepted on site the day of the event. Registration is due by 5 p.m. on March 20.
Space is limited and only the first 700 youth to register will be enrolled in the clinic. Those attending are required to wear tennis shoes or rubber-soled shoes and encouraged to wear shorts/sweatpants and a t-shirt or sweatshirt, preferably representing Arizona State University. Participants will not wear helmets or shoulder pads, and are asked not to wear other college apparel outside of Arizona State’s.
Participants are encouraged to arrive early to watch Sun Devil spring football practice beginning at 9 a.m. Practice is also open to participants’ parents/guardians and youth coaches. The clinic will be put on following practice.
Check-in for the clinic will take place from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the South Entrance of Sun Devil Stadium and all participants should enter through the southeast gate. Parents and guardians must stay on the premises until the conclusion of the clinic.
Those with any further questions should contact Jill Adams at 480-965-3037. In case of inclement weather, the clinic will be rescheduled to a later date. For more information on Sun Devil football camps, visit www.thesundevils.com.
