SUN DEVILS TRAVEL TO SALT LAKE: The Arizona State Sun Devils (19-7/8-5) travel to an arena where the home team is 16-2 on the year when it takes on Utah on Sunday, Feb. 23, in an ESPNU game at 6 p.m. (860 AM). ASU has now won six of its past eight but has a bad taste in its mouth after Wednesday’s 61-52 loss at Colorado in which it was outrebounded by 21 and shot a season-low .315 (17-of-54) from the field in notching season-low 52 points. ASU held CU to 20-of-54 (.375) from the field but second-chance points were 12-0 as CU had 15 offensive rebounds. Tim Healey and Kyle Dodd have the local call on 860 AM. In ASU's 6-2 stretch, Jahii Carson is averaging 20.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists. Jermaine Marshall in his seven road games is averaging 18 points.

BLOCK----CHYNSKI!: In the first three seasons of his career (89 games), Jordan Bachynski averaged 6.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.03 blocks. This season he is at 11.9  ppg., 8.8 rpg and 4. bpg. Jordan has a double-double in 11 games, after entering the season with five (89 games). With 296 career blocks he is now the Pac-12 record holder, topping Anthony Cook of Arizona (278 from 1985-89). He needs just five blocks to break his own Pac-12 season record of 120 blocks set last year. He posted career high 26 points vs. Oregon (2/8/14) and matched career high with 15 caroms vs. Oregon State (2/6/14).

JORDAN AT THE LINE: Jordan Bachynski entered Pac-12 play this season a career .566 FT shooter (180-of-318). In Pac-12 games this year he is shooting 55-of-70 (.786) from the line.

PAC-12 SINGLE SEASON BLOCKS
1. 120, Jordan Bachynski, ASU, 2012-13
2. 116, Jordan Bachynski, ASU, 2013-14
3. 115, Mario Bennett, ASU, 1994-95

JORDAN'S FIRST THREE SEASONS COMPARED TO THIS YEAR
2010-13 (89 GAMES): FG%: .570; 6.6 PPG.; 4.3 RPG; 2.0 BPG
2013-14 (26 GAMES): FG%: .584; 11.9 PPG; 8.8 RPG; 4.5 BPG

THE BLOCK STAT: Jordan Bachynski with 116 blocks is blocking one of every 13.6 opponent shots. Since he has not blocked a three-pointer, that means he has blocked one of every 9.9 two-point attempts.

LET’S GET THIS OUT OF THE WAY: The .315 shooting performance at Colorado (17-of-54) Wednesday was the lowest by ASU since it shot .306 (15-of-49) at USC on Feb. 26, 2011 (95 games)…the 52 points was the fewest since a 72-50 loss at Washington State on Feb. 18, 2012 (65 games)…ASU’s 17 field goals was its fewest since 16 in that same Feb. 18, 2012 Washington State game.

BEST ARIZONA FREE AGENT SIGNING SINCE STEVE NASH?: All senior graduate transfer Jermaine Marshall seems to do is hit big shots and come up big when the Sun Devils need it most. He is averaging 19.5 points in his past six games, and his game vs. Arizona on Valentine's Day was epic and earned him Pac-12 Player of the Week. In leading ASU to its highest win over a ranked opponent at home in school history, Marshall had 29 points on 11-of-23 shooting (4-of-8 from the three-point stripe). He kept ASU in it early with 12 first-half points and then was rock solid in the second overtime with eight points in final 94 seconds. He made a three-pointer with 1:34 left and ASU down four, then tied it with a three-pointer with 58 seconds left. With ASU down one he made a driving layup with 14 seconds left that would be the game winner in the 69-66 double overtime victory.

MARRIOTT POINTS: Games in opposing arenas have been a good thing for Jahii Carson, who has averaged 21.7 points in 19 true road games. His top seven scoring games are all away from Tempe and he has averaged 21.5 points in 23 road/neutral games…career highs for assists is 13 vs. Texas Tech (12/21/13); rebounds is 12 vs. Oregon (2/8/14); minutes is 48 vs. #2 Arizona (2/14/14).

JAHII CARSON'S TOP SCORING GAMES (YES, ALL OF THEM AWAY FROM TEMPE)
40 at UNLV (11/19/13)
34 vs. Stanford at Pac-12 Tournament in Las Vegas (3/13/13)
32 at Washington (2/2/13)
30 vs. #14 Creighton in Las Vegas (11/24/12)
29 at California (1/29/14)
25 at Washington State (1/31/13)
24 at Stanford (2/1/14)

BLOCK-WIN-SKI: Three times this season Jordan Bachynski has blocked a potential shot near the buzzer to prevent an overtime or win. Against No. 25 Marquette on Nov. 25, his walk-off block gave ASU the 79-77 win. On Feb. 8 vs. Oregon, he swatted away Joseph Young's layup at the buzzer that would have tied it in the 74-72 win. On Feb. 14, he blocked T.J. McConnell's runner in the lane with ASU up one that led to a Jahii Carson runout dunk and the 69-66 win.

BIT OF HOME HISTORY: ASU's 69-66 overtime over #2 Arizona was the highest ranked team the Sun Devils have ever beaten at home. ASU now has defeated a team in the top five 10 times, but only three at home in Wells Fargo Arena as it opened in 1974-75. ASU's last home win over a top-five team prior to the UA win was Feb. 20, 1992 when it beat fifth-ranked Arizona 77-74.

ASU WINS VS. TOP-5 TEAMS AT WELLS FARGO ARENA
ASU 89, #5 San Francisco 70 (Dec. 3, 1977)
ASU 68, #4 Oregon State 60 (March 6, 1982)
ASU 77, #5 Arizona 74 (Feb. 20, 1992)
ASU 69, #2 Arizona 66, 2 OT (Feb. 14, 2014)

EJ IMPROVING: Sophomore Eric Jacobsen was 26-of-51 (.509) from the free throw line in his career entering the Arizona game on Jan. 16, but has made 13-of-16 (.813) since. He had season-high seven points and matched season-highs in minutes (20) and rebounds (six) in Jan. 29 OT win at California.

1,000: Jahii Carson enters the 62nd game of his career vs. Utah with 1,137 points (18.6 ppg). Only two Sun Devils reached 1,000 points quicker than Jahii, who did it in his 55th game. Ike Diogu reached 1,000 in his 50th game, while James Harden did it in his 52nd.

SHAQ: Senior transfer Shaquielle McKissic has one year to play and is making the most of it. In the past 16 games, he is averaging 10.5 points and 5.8 rebounds while shooting .500 from the field (57-of-114). In those tilts he has 38 assists and just 14 turnovers. On the year he has 56 assists and just 15 turnovers and leads the team with 34 steals. He is averaging 6.7 rebounds in the past seven games and has 11 double-figure scoring games on the year. He had season-high 19 points vs. Grambling (12/14), 12 rebounds at DePaul (12/6), six steals at USC on Jan. 9 and 38 minutes vs. Oregon on Feb. 8.

THREE-POINTERS: ASU leads the Pac-12 in three-pointers made per game at 7.9 per game. The good thing is this isn't a jack-a-lot-of-them-up-deal...Sun Devils connect at a .386 clip (206-of-533), third in the Pac-12. Jon Gilling led the league last year in three-pointers made with 84.
