PHOENIX, Ariz.—Returning to their collegiate stomping grounds, six Arizona State women’s golf alumni will compete in the LPGA Tour’s JTBC Founders Cup, Mar. 20-23, at the Wildfire Golf Club at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge in Phoenix, Ariz.

Since 2009, six Arizona State golfers have qualified for the LPGA tour and all six will compete this weekend in the fourth-annual Founders Cup Tournament.

Anna Nordqvist, who won her second LPGA title last month in Thailand, leads the field of former Sun Devils ranked 15th in the Rolex LPGA Standings. While competing for Arizona State, Nordqvist swept almost every award her freshman season. A two-time All-American, Nordqvist was named the NGCA National Freshman of the Year, the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year, and Pac-10 player of the year.

The field also features 2010 LPGA Rookie of the Year and the 24th-ranked LPGA Golfer in Azahara Munoz. Munoz won the 2008 NCAA Individual Title and helped the Sun Devils win the 2009 NCAA Team Title.

Sun Devils Carlota Ciganda, Jennifer Johnson, Giulia Molinaro, and Jaclyn Sweeney are also competing over the weekend. Each golfer was a stand out in their own right at Arizona State. Ciganda was a three-time All-American and the first ever back-to-back Pac-12 Individual Champion. Molinaro was named the 2012 Pac-12 Player of the Year, only the fourth golfer in school history. Jennifer Johnson was the 2010 NGCA National Freshman of the Year and Jaclyn Sweeney was part of the 2009 NCAA Championship team.

After the Pro-Am Wednesday, Sun Devil Nation will have a chance to throw up the pitchfork with Aza. Always a fan favorite Munoz will be hosting a meet and greet, in addition to competing on the course, for an opportunity to connect to fans and sign autographs. The event, covered by the Golf Channel, will be held at Blue Martini at 5 p.m. in North Scottsdale.

The four-day tournament will be televised live on the Golf Channel and features a $1.5 million purse, with $225,000 going to the champion. Tickets are still available for the tournament HERE.
