SKILLINGS, N.J.—Arizona State women’s tennis player Desirae Krawczyk was named the ITA Southwest Regional Player to Watch, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced.
The Player to Watch award is given to a player who is expected to be one of the top-returning players in their region and has the potential to win an ITA Regional Championship event.
The sophomore, who received an at-large bid to the NCAA Individual Championship, had a break out season in the No. 2 line-up position for Arizona State. Krawczyk compiled a regular season record of 20-3 in dual-match play behind fellow sophomore Stephanie Vlad in the line-up. The Palm Desert, Calif. native also recorded two-straight upset victories in the Pac-12 Tournament to qualify for the quarterfinals.
This week Krawczyk will head to Athens, Ga. to compete in the NCAA Individual Championships, May 21-26, hosted by the University of Georgia.
