Situated within the picturesque Papago Mountains, Phoenix Muni offers Sun Devil fans a one-of-a-kind college baseball experience to guide us into the next chapter of this historic program. The new facility will offer higher capacity, improved amenities, and opportunities for better in-game experience for fans, alumni, former letter winners, student-athletes, media and employees.
“The new stadium is exciting for players, coaches, alumni and fans alike,” head baseball coach Tim Esmay said. “A long list of great players, a winning tradition and a rich history has made Arizona State the preeminent program in the nation. Playing in Phoenix Muni will now steer Sun Devil baseball into a new era of distinction.”
Sun Devil Athletics will honor the baseball program’s storied tradition through a variety of ways, including increased signage and branding as well as creating a Legacy Walk that will feature permanent plaques for our three former head coaches and the foundation of the program, increased use of historical photos and video, and added emphasis on our strong ties with Major League Baseball, USA Baseball and the College World Series.
Some of the capital improvements will include a state-of-the art video board, an updated clubhouse complete with a player’s lounge, academic center and training room, creation of a grass berm, and premium seating options.
"I've had a wonderful life, and a big part of that took place in Packard Stadium,” said Pat Brock, wife of the late legendary head coach Jim Brock. “It will be very sad to leave here, but I do believe they are upgrading and going to a better facility because it’s about the team and the fans, and that can be moved anywhere”
