Pat Tillman displayed courage, bravery, and dedication to his country by serving his duty overseas, and starting Nov. 11, it is time to show our appreciation for the former Sun Devil and fallen war hero by signing up for the 9th-Annual Pat's Run. Pat's Run, a 4.2 mile run/walk, celebrates the legacy of Tillman, an extraordinary and deserving figure who embodied all the values of a true hero. The event also features a .42 mike Kids Run for kids aged 12 and under with a Finish Line Expo.
Join the nearly 35,000 participants, volunteers and spectators who support the Pat Tillman Foundation and Tillman Military Scholars program on April 20 from 7:00-11:00 a.m. The race will begin at Sun Devil Stadium on Rio Salado Parkway and Packard Drive and will finish on the 42-yard-line on Frank Kush Field inside Sun Devil Stadium, symbolic for the No. 42 jersey worn by Tillman while he was a Sun Devil.
Pat's Run is the signature fundraising event for the Pat Tillman Foundation. Participants unite to Run, Walk and Honor Pat Tillman's legacy while raising important funds to support the programs created to pay tribute to his commitment to leadership and service. Proceeds from Pat's Run directly support the Tillman Military Scholars program. To date, the Pat Tillman Foundation has invested over $5 million in educational resources to support individuals committed to a life of service both in and out of uniform.
Registration is limited, so participants are encouraged to register early to secure their spot to be able to display their support for Tillman and the Pat Tillman Foundation. You can register online at http://www.pattillmanfoundation.org/pats-run/ starting Nov. 11. The price for Pat's Run is $42, while the Kids Run is $5. A team registration deadline has been set for March 31, 2013, and teams with a minimum of ten participants are eligible to have one person pick up the entire team's race packet in advance. Regular packet pick up will begin Wednesday, April 17 and will continue to Friday, April 19 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the north end of Sun Devil Stadium.
