TEMPE, Ariz. - Former Arizona State first baseman and outfielder Jeff Larish was named the Detroit Tigers' Minor League Player of the Year.

Larish, a fifth-round selection (150th overall) in the 2005 First-Year Player Draft, helped the Class AA Erie SeaWolves to an 81-59 regular season record and an Eastern League Southern Division championship this year.

He also led the Eastern League with 28 home runs and 101 RBIs, while hitting .267 in 132 games for the SeaWolves.

Larish finished his ASU career in 2005, helping the Sun Devils to a third-place finish in the College World Series that season. He finished second on the ASU all-time list with 51 career home runs, and his three home runs in an extra-inning 8-7 win over Nebraska during the 2005 College World Series tied both an ASU and CWS record.

He is also in the top 10 of ASU's all-time career leaders in RBIs, hits, runs, doubles, total bases and walks. Larish will play for the Peoria Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League.
