TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State University head baseball coach Pat Murphy will be inducted into the Florida Atlantic University Baseball Hall of Fame this week. Murphy played two seasons for the Owls in 1981 and 1982 and also served on their coaching staff for three seasons.

Murphy was a member of the inaugural baseball team at Florida Atlantic in 1981. He helped lead the Owls to a 42-14 record in their second season, earning Most Valuable Pitcher honors from the team.

Murphy, in his 14th season at ASU, will join four other inductees as the second Hall of Fame class in the FAU Baseball Hall of Fame. Murphy's daughter, Keli, will attend the ceremony on February 21 in Boca Raton, Florida. Murphy and the Sun Devils open the 2008 season Friday night, when they host Miami, Ohio in the DeMarini Invitational at Winkles Field-Packard Stadium at Brock Ballpark.
