TEMPE, Ariz. - Two Arizona State University football games have been selected for national radio broadcast in 1998, ASU Director of Athletics Dr. Kevin White announced Friday.
Westwood One Radio, a national radio syndicate who broadcasts national college football games of the week, will air ASU's season and Pacific-10 Conference opener with Washington on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 7:15 p.m. (MST). Westwood One Radio will also broadcast the Thursday, Oct. 22 game at Sun Devil Stadium with Stanford (7:00 p.m. MST).
"We are pleased to have an agreement with Westwood One to carry two ASU games to the nation's college football fans," says White. "It is further evidence that our program is gaining in stature on the national scene and that Head Coach Bruce Snyder has built a solid program that is the pride of ASU."
ASU has already been scheduled for four national television broadcasts. Both the Washington and Stanford game are also scheduled for a national TV audience on Fox Sports Net which also will carry the Arizona game Nov. 27. ASU's game at Brigham Young on September 12 will be televised by espn2. In addition, ASU's game at Southern California has already been picked up by ABC for a regional audience.
