TEMPE, Ariz. -- Sun Devil women's swimming will represent Arizona State University at the "Race for the Cure," Sunday, Oct. 8 in Phoenix.

In coordination with ASU's community outreach program Sun Devil T.A.L.E.S. (Talk About Life Experiences Through Sports), 13 women's swimmers have volunteered to pass out water to participants in the 5-kilometer run and walk. The race is an event designed to raise breast cancer awareness.

The participation of ASU swimming in this event is just one of the many efforts made yearly by Sun Devil Athletics to get out into the community. If you have a question regarding this event, or regarding other efforts of the Sun Devil Life Skills program, please contact coordinator Gina Sperry at 480-965-0134.

Following are the 13 volunteer Sun Devils: Sarah Baham, Kimberly Currie, Erin Gorlesky, Karyl Johnson, Elizabeth Lightner, Riley Mants, Florence Mauro, Lauren Morelli, Lindsey Smart, Amanda Stanford, Jancy Thompson, Carli Watts and Alicia Wheelock.
