TEMPE, Ariz. - The 20th-ranked Arizona State baseball team collected 17 runs on 17 hits and right-hander Trevor Williams allowed just four hits as the Sun Devils took down Utah 17-1 on Saturday night at Packard Stadium in Tempe, Ariz.

Williams (9-2) racked up a career-high nine strikeouts, including four consecutive in the fifth and six innings, and allowed just one hit after the fourth inning to earn his team-leading ninth win of the season. He did not walk a batter for the fourth consecutive start and extended his no-walks streak to 33 games.

Andrew Aplin led the way with four RBI, and Abe Ruiz and Trever Allen each added three RBI as seven Sun Devils (28-17, 13-10) recorded multiple-hit games.

Allen hit a two-run double in the second inning and scored on a groundout by Aplin one batter later to give the Sun Devils an early 3-0 advantage. Michael Benjamin was hit by a pitch and Beau Maggi singled and advanced to second on the throw before Allen drove them both home with an extra-base hit to center field.

James Brooks hit a solo home run in the third inning to put the Utes (12-32, 6-17) on the board, but ASU responded with four runs in the bottom of the frame to extend its lead to six, 7-1. The Sun Devils brought eight batters to the plate as Ruiz, James McDonald and Aplin each recorded RBI singles and Maggi had an RBI sacrifice fly.

Joey DeMichele hit a stand-up triple to center field in the fourth inning and scored two batters later on a wild pitch, and Aplin walked with two outs in the fifth frame and scored on an RBI double by Deven Marrero to push the Devils' lead to eight, 9-1

The Sun Devils' five-run seventh inning was punctuated by a two-run single by Ruiz as four different players garnered an RBI in the frame to extend their lead. ASU tacked on three runs in the eighth inning on a pair of sacrifice flies and a single to make it 17-1.

Utah starting right-hander Joe Pond (3-8) took the loss after conceding three runs on three hits in 1 1/3 innings.

The Sun Devils close out their three-game series with Utah at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday at Packard Stadium. The contest will be broadcast live by Sun Devil Sports Network on The Fan AM 1060 and will also be webcast by FoxSportsArizona.com.

Game notes: Ruiz and Benjamin were each hit by a pitch twice...Nathaniel Causey walked four times, the first time that has happened since June 5, 2011...right-hander Matt Dunbar closed out the ninth inning.
