Two Sun Devils Make USA Baseball Team

TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona State baseball's Willie Bloomquist and Casey Myers have been named to the 26-man roster for the 1998 USA Baseball National Team, USA Baseball announced. The two Sun Devils and their teammates will represent the U.S. this summer, possibly in the World Championships.

Bloomquist, a sophomore for ASU in 1998, led the team with a .414 batting average while starting all 64 games. He led the squad with 109 hits and also posted 14 doubles and 61 RBI while stealing 33 bases.

Myers, a freshman at ASU in 1998, was second to Bloomquist with a .386 batting average. He played 51 games, starting 48. HE was third on the team with eight home runs while also collecting 17 doubles and 58 RBI.
