ASU's McCoury/Pereyra Claim Doubles Championship at Ojai

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State's Celena McCoury and Ana Lucia Pereyra teamed up to win the doubles championship for the Invitational Tournament at the Pac-10 Championships in Ojai, California today.

McCoury and Pereyra defeated Francesca La'O and Emeka Mayes of Cal, 6-3, 1-6, 6-2, to earn the championship honors. This tournament was the first time the two Sun Devils had played doubles together.

In other doubles action, the No. 13 team of Allison Bradshaw and Katy Propstra fell to the No. 40 team of Claire Curran and Anita Kurimay (Cal), 6-7(5), 6-3, 7-6(4), in the semifinals of the Main Draw doubles tournament.

Championship Semifinals Round of Doubles:
#40 Curran/Kurimay (Cal) def. #13 Bradshaw/Propstra (ASU), 6-7(5), 6-3, 7-6(4)

Invitational Semifinals Round of Doubles:
McCoury/Pereyra (ASU) def. Frankland/Van de Ven (WSU), 6-2, 2-6, 6-2

Invitational Doubles Championship:
McCoury/Pereyra (ASU) def. La'O/Mayes (Cal), 6-3, 1-6, 6-2
