TEMPE- The No. 15 Arizona State baseball team is set to have 35 games this season aired on KDUS The Fan 1060 AM, as well as nine games broadcast via internet. The station's weekly radio show, "Dugout Chatter With Tim Esmay," is set to run every Wednesday for 10 weeks, beginning March 21 and ending May 23.
The Sun Devils are set to play a total of 19 games against six ranked opponents this season, all of which will be broadcast on The Fan 1060 AM. ASU hosts a trio of top conference foes at Packard Stadium, including No. 26 Cal (March 23-25), No. 22 Oregon State (April 5-7) and No. 18 Arizona for two separate single-game sets on April 17 and May 16, respectively. ASU will also welcome No. 19 Cal State Fullerton for a two-game tilt (March 27-28).
The Devils travel to Los Angeles March 16-18 to face No. 20 UCLA and will play No. 2 Stanford in Palo Alto, Calif., April 20-22. They finish the season with a three-game series against the Wildcats in Tucson, Ariz., May 25-27.
Other games being broadcast include a March 21 contest vs. UNLV at Packard Stadium, a three-game series at Oregon (March 30-April 1), a three-game home series vs. USC (April 13-15), three games at Washington State (April 27-29), and home series' with Utah (May 4-6) and Washington (May 18-20).
The team's season opener on Feb. 17, a 6:30 p.m. contest vs. Western Michigan at Packard Stadium, will be an internet-only broadcast and will air on SunDevilSportsNetwork.com. A total of nine games will be broadcast solely on the internet, including the tail end of the of the Western Michigan series on Feb. 19, UC Riverside on Feb. 24 and 26 at Packard, a pair of games from the Coca-Cola Classic in Surprise, Ariz., a March 6 home contest with Texas Tech and a two-game home series vs. Utah Valley March 13 and 14.
Tim Healey will once again serve as the voice of the Sun Devils on baseball broadcasts, his 14th season with ASU baseball, and former ASU infielder Seth Dhaenens will provide color commentary again.
ASU is ranked No. 15 in the country by the NCBWA and returns a trio of preseason All-Americans, including defending Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year Deven Marrero, defending Pac-10 batting title winner Joey DeMichele and last season's Friday night starter Brady Rodgers.
The Sun Devils open the 2012 season at Packard Stadium on Friday, Feb. 17, vs. Western Michigan. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. (MT). For the full 2012 schedule, click here.
