TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State pitcher Jon Switzer, a junior to be for Pat Murphy's Sun Devil squad, pitched two perfect innings and struck out five to help lead Team USA to a 3-0 win over Korea Wednesday evening at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma, Wash.

Switzer (Houston, Texas), who tallied an impressive 11-3 record with a 3.89 ERA on the mound for the Pac-10 Champion Sun Devils in 2000, is currently 0-0 for Team USA. Switzer has been stellar with Team USA with a 3.00 ERA in seven games and 12 combined innings. The lefty has struck out 14, while walking only two.

All-American catcher and Pac-10 Player of the Year Casey Myers (Casa Grande) is also representing the Maroon and Gold of ASU this summer with Team USA. Myers, who hit .412 with 18 home runs and 97 RBI in 2000, is hitting .227 (5x22) in seven starts behind the plate for the Red, White and Blue of Team USA.

Both Sun Devils, along with a host of other Pac-10 players, will continue the 2000 Qwest Red, White and Blue Tour with 10 more games in the States before embarking on a 10-day trip to The Netherlands for the Hankball Tournament.
