TEMPE, Ariz. - Three Arizona State University baseball student-athletes were named the 2007 Pacific-10 Conference All-Academic team, the conference announced today. Junior outfielder Ryan Sontag and sophomore catcher Petey Paramore were both named to the First Team, while senior infielder Joe Persichina was an honorable mention.

A student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA and either be a starter or a significant contributor. True freshman and transfer students are not eligible. This is the 11th consecutive season that Arizona State had had at least two members of the All-Academic Team.

Sontag (Monroe, Mich.) carries a 3.78 GPA as a kinesiology major. He has appeared in 45 games this season, batting .333. Paramore (Allen, Texas) has a 3.41 GPA in business and communications. He was also named as an All-Conference selection this season, batting .371 with 46 RBI and a Pac-10 leading 48 walks.

Persichina (Palos Verdes, Calif.) has earned All-Academic honors for the third consecutive season. He was an honorable mention in 2005 and earned Second Team honors last season.
