TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State swimming and diving teams fell to Washington this morning in a dual meet at the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center. The Huskies prevailed 126-123 on the men's side and 129-120 on the women's side. Sophomore All-American David Kolozar won two events for the Sun Devil men while junior All-American Florencia Szigeti captured two wins for the women.

Kolozar touched the wall first in both the 1000 freestyle (9:34.52) and the 500 freestyle (4:38.42) to lead the ASU men in a meet marked by chilly temperatures and intermittent rain. Senior All-American Nick Brunelli recorded the other ASU men's victory on the day with a time of 45.63 in the 100 freestyle. He also finished third in both the 200 freestyle (1:41.57) and the 200 IM (1:57.95). Second-place finishes for the men were secured by Evan Rahaeuser in the 200 IM (1:54.73) and Wiley Wallace in the 50 freestyle (21.67).

Szigeti touched the wall first in both the 100 freestyle (52.18) and the 200 freestyle (1:52.18). She is undefeated in the 200 this season and has won the 100 in four out of five meets. Petra Banovic notched two second-place finishes for ASU with her efforts in the 50 freestyle (24.23) and the 200 IM (2:06.97).

The meet featured several unique events including a 300 butterfly relay, a 300 backstroke relay and a 300 breaststroke relay. All diving points were secured by ASU as Washington does not have a diving squad.

The Sun Devils will be back in action at home next weekend when the women host Florida on Friday and Saturday, January 9 and 10, both at 1:00 p.m. The men host Purdue on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
