The 15th-ranked Arizona State baseball team has had a busy past week preparing for their season opener Feb. 17 at Packard Stadium. The Sun Devils host Western Michigan Friday night at 6:30 in the first of a three-game series with the Broncos. First pitch on Feb. 18 is at 1 p.m., followed by a 12:30 p.m. game on Sunday.

The week started with media day Feb. 7, where head coach Tim Esmay and players Joey DeMichele, Deven Marrero, Brady Rodgers and Trevor Williams fielded questions from a wide variety of the valley's news outlets. Click here to read stories from the day.

The team's preseason banquet was held at the Fiesta Resort in Tempe the following day, where a silent auction of baseball memorabilia was held, and student-athletes and fans had a chance to talk and eat dinner. Click here to see a photo gallery from the night.

Former players, alumni and parents kicked off the alumni weekend festivities at the annual golf tournament held in north Scottsdale on Feb. 10. The team of Jake Borup, Mike Leake, Jordan Swaggerty and Jeff Urlaub won the event with a 16-under.

The current players beat the alumni 16-1 in the annual Alumni Game at Packard Stadium on Feb. 11. Former Sun Devils who made an appearance include Seth Blair, Ike Davis, Jeff Larish, Leake, Dustin Pedroia, Eric Sogard, Swaggerty and Andy Workman, among others.
