High School: Attended Kent Denver High School in Englewood, Colo... earned four varsity letters each in basketball, baseball and tennis... coached in baseball by Bill Boatman... played for Cherry Creek Connie Mack during the summer... captained all three sports he played during his prep career... on the diamond he set a Kent Denver career record with 24 home runs, including eight during his sophomore year, four during his junior year and 12 during his senior year... named All-League Honorable Mention during his freshman year... during sophomore year he hit .485 with 34 RBI, leading the league in home runs and RBI... first-team all-league and honorable mention all-state... during junior year hit .545 and was named first-team all-state and first-team all-league... in addition to his 12 home runs during his senior year, he hit .500 with eight stolen bases and 34 RBI... named first-team all-state, first-team all-league, named to the All-Colorado team and was a senior Top 40... during his prep career he was also named to the basketball all-state team, tennis all-state team and was the Colorado State Tennis Singles Champion his senior year.
