Baseball Bloodlines: His father, Kevin Romine, was a two-time All-American for the Sun Devils in 1981-82... he was an integral part of ASU's last national championship in 1981, hitting .410 (102-for-249) with 12 home runs and 27 stolen bases... hit .406 (121-for-298) his senior year with a school-record 59 stolen bases... is the only player in school history to post back-to-back 100-hit and .400 seasons... after being drafted in the second round in 1982, went on to enjoy a seven-year career major league career with the Boston Red Sox... played in 331 career games with the Red Sox...Kevin has his #12 retired by Arizona State in May of 2006.

2006 (Sophomore): Missed half the season due to a blood clot in his arm and rib removal surgery...returned to the lineup to play in 22 games, starting 20...hit .375 (27-72) with 12 runs scored and 13 RBI...returned to action the opening week of Pac-10 play at Washington State, after which he earned Pac-10 Player of the Week honors...stole five bases in six attempts...hit .444 (8-18) in the leadoff spot...led the team by batting .458 (11-24) with runners in scoring position, including 12 RBI...went 3-5 with four RBI in the Challenge at Chase against Arizona (4/2) in only his fourth game back...had nine hits and seven RBI in his first five games of the season...showed he was healthy during the NCAA Tournament in Houston, taking the field with a backflip a la Ozzie Smith against Prairie View A & M.
