WHAT COACH SENDEK SAID
At the end of the athletic season at the Sun Devil student-athlete graduation luncheon, each Sun Devil head coach offers a quote to be read prior to the student-athlete speaking. Here is what Coach Sendek had to say about Trent on May 4:

"We are glad to join in on the celebration of Trent Lockett's graduation with a B.A. in Business Communication. Ambitiously, Trent is earning this degree in three years and now plans to pursue a master's degree. Trent is a thinker. He is bright, analytical and a wizard with numbers. I always enjoyed our engaging, and thoughtful conversations. Trent has been an outstanding representative for our program on campus and in the community. Trent personified the concept of student-athlete. As a gentleman, he has been easy to cheer for. Clearly, the Sun Devil Nation has been very proud of Trent. We certainly wish Trent the very best, and we thank his mom Judy, for entrusting us with her son. As Denzel Washington so famously said in the movie, American Gangster, "My Man".

LOCKETT A 2011-2012 ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT SELECTION
Trent earned Capital One Academic All-District 8 honors in 2011-12. He was joined on the team by junior Matthew Dellavedova of Saint Mary's, senior Taylor Darby of Pepperdine, senior Wil Carter of San Jose State and senior Darin Mahoney of Weber State.

Was the first commitment in the class of 2009 when he committed to ASU in October of 2007. Arrived on campus in May of 2009 to start summer school, but had to fly home for his high school graduation and then came back the next week to continue summer school. A top-100 player on everyone's lists entering his freshman year, he was No. 80 according to Rivals.com and No. 19 among shooting guards. Played with four teammates who signed with Division I schools as Hopkins is regarded as the best program in the state. Excellent student-athlete and possesses excellent athletic ability. Coached in high school by Kenny Novak and in AAU ball by Marquis Watts. A gym rat who was shooting over 500 jumpers at 6 a.m. entering his senior season of high school hoops.

THE BEST MEN'S BASKETBALL STUDENT-ATHLETE IN THE PAC-12 ENTERING 2011-12?
When you take it all into consideration...accepted into the Barrett Honors College, the second-team All-Pac-10 pick, the first-team Pac-10 All-Academic pick for two season, and three solid seasons....it is hard to not say Trent Lockett was the best overall men's basketball student-athlete in the Pac-12 the past two seasons. Consider this...he was the only first-team Pac-10 All-Academic pick from 2010-11 who earned All-Pac-10 honors.

WHO ELSE MADE ALL-PAC-10 IN 2010-11 AND RETURNED IN 2011-12?
Trent Lockett was one of the four returnees from the 15-man 2010-11 All-Pac-10 squad that was on the court in 2011-12. Lockett, a second-team pick, was joined by first-team pick Jorge Gutierrez (California) as well as second-team picks Jared Cunningham (Oregon State) and Harper Kamp (Cal).

ABOUT THE ALL-PAC-10 SECOND-TEAM HONORS
Trent earned 2010-11 second-team All-Pac-10 honors from the league's coaches. It marked the second Pac-10 honor for the Hopkins High School product, as he earned All-Pac-10 Freshman Team honors in 2009-10. The league selects a 10-man first team and a five-man second team. Lockett became the fourth Sun Devil to earn All-Pac-10 honors under Coach Sendek in his first five seasons, joining Abbott (first-team in 2009-10), James Harden (first-team in 2007-08 and 2008-09) and Jeff Pendergraph (2007-08 third-team and 2008-09 first-team). Lockett also is the first player from Minnesota to earn All-Pac-10 honors. He earned first-team Pac-10 All-Academic honors and was the only first-team Pac-10 All-Academic honoree to earn All-Pac-10 honors.
