SUN DEVIL DATA: Transferred from UC Davis in summer of 2005 and played one season (2005-2006) before health issues forced him to concentrate on academics, but now is back and is expected to provide frontcourt depth. Finance major layed in 19 games in 2005-2006, first seeing action at Iowa on Dec. 17 after he became eligible following NCAA transfer rules required him to sit the first semester. Shot 50 percent from the field (16-of-32) on the year and had season high eight points vs. Boise State (Dec. 21) and at Washington (Dec. 29). Posted season highs in rebounds (five) at Iowa (Dec. 17) and vs. Boise State. Played season-high 23 minutes vs. Northern Arizona on Dec. 22. Produced great high school numbers and had 23 school records after graduating. A National Honor Society member in high school who also completed more than 300 hours of community service in his four-year high school career.

LOCAL CONNECTION: Goldstein joined a list of Arizona prep products who have played for ASU recently, including Bryson Krueger (Mountain Pointe High School), Greenway's Chad Prewitt (1998-2002), Corona del Sol's Donnell Knight (1999-2003), Phoenix North High School's Tommy Smith (1999-2003) and Mesa Mountain View's Kenny Crandall (1998-99, 2001-2004). Crandall earned his B.I.S. in business and communications in 2004 while Prewitt earned his B.I.S. in business and communications in 2002. Both Knight and Smith have both played professionally since leading ASU to the NCAA Tournament in 2003, its first appearance since 1995.

DESERT MOUNTAIN HIGH SCHOOL: A 2004 graduate of Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale...averaged 19.4 points, 12.8 rebounds and 3.8 blocks per game in senior season (2003-2004)...shot 78 percent from the free throw line and 40 percent from the three-point stripe...a first-team all-state pick by the Arizona Republic...a first-team All-Desert Valley Region pick as well as an All-Northeast Valley pick...first-team All-City by Scottsdale Views and an All-Metro pick for Phoenix by Street & Smith's...was captain of the basketball team for two seasons and also was on the golf team for one season...a second-team all-state pick in his junior year.
