Jahii Carson had 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting in just 24 minutes as Arizona State topped Fujian SBS 99-77 in Nanning, China, Sunday afternoon to conclude its Chinese Exhibition tour 3-0. Tempe's Calaen Robinson had 17 points off the bench, while Jordan Bachynski added 11, Egor Koulechov 10 points and eight boards and Sai Tummala 10 points that included three three-pointers.

ASU led 28-21 at the end of the first quarter and 49-35 at the half and then outscored Fujian 36-18 in the third to put the game away. The Sun Devils shot 14-of-16 (.875) from the free throw line.

"This trip was really good for us as we were able to see what the newcomers can do and see what spots they are comfortable," noted Coach Herb Sendek. "Spider (the nickname that Coach Sendek has tagged Calaen with) and Drago (the nickname that Coach now has given Egor) really impressed. We wondered who our backup point guard would be this year, and it is safe to say that both Calaen and Chance impressed."

Ten Sun Devils played at least 12 minutes as Coach Sendek used a hockey-like substitution in the first half with Carson, Gilling and Bachynski taking the floor with freshman Egor Koulechov and Chance Murray completing the starting lineup.

ASU will return to campus in the early morning hours on Tuesday as it flies out of Nanning on Monday. It stops in Beijing and then Los Angeles before arriving in Phoenix at 11:35 p.m. Monday night. School begins Thursday at Arizona State.

Arizona State opens its season in 83 days on Nov. 8 vs. Maryland-Baltimore County at Wells Fargo Arena, the earliest start date in school history.
