ASU next competes in the Bill Cullum Invitational Oct. 21-22 in Simi Valley, Calif., before finishing its fall schedule at the Hawaii Kauai Invitational Nov. 4-6.

ASU will open its spring schedule in Waikoloa, Hawaii, Feb. 4-6, at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate.

NOTES...

--Rahm has now played 55 rounds in his 18-tournament career and has had his score count 54 times and has shot par or better in 29 rounds and has 18 rounds in the 60s.

--Each of the five Sun Devils had a birdie in the event.

--Alberto Sanchez went 9-under on the par-5 holes.

--Sanchez and Rahm each had 13 birdies.

--ASU continues to build the momentum this fall, as it is now 39-5-1 in head-to-head competition that includes second-place finishes at the Kikkor Invitational in Seattle and the Tucker Invitational in Albuquerque.

--In both of those tournaments, ASU was behind only the host school in the final results, so ASU is 39-2-1 against non-host schools so far.

EAGLE UPDATE: Jon Rahm’s nine eagles last year was tied for the best mark in the nation with Xander Schauffele of San Diego State. That also was the most by a Sun Devil in the past 20 seasons, topping Paul Casey’s eight eagles in his freshman season of 1997-98. Jon had three of them in the Tucker Invitational in late September and posted one in the first round of the Alister MacKenzie Invitational, bringing his career total to 13. Since Golfstat began tracking in 1993-94, only four Sun Devils have more career eagles than Jon Rahm.
