TEMPE, Ariz. - Tickets are now on sale for the 2013 Sun Devil Club Football Banquet on Dec. 14 at the JW Marriott at Camelback Inn in Scottsdale. The event, which sold out last year, begins at 5 p.m. with a reception and silent auction before the ceremony starts at 6 p.m. 

“I had the privilege and honor to enjoy the ASU football banquet 41 years ago as a co-captain of 1972 WAC and Fiesta Bowl Championship team,” Steve Matlock, Football Banquet Committee Chair and Sun Devil Club board member, said. “I know firsthand how much this recognition means to the team, particularly the seniors and coaches after completing a long, grueling and successful season. Coach Graham has put a first class product on the field and we can all be proud to honor them and celebrate their accomplishments at this years’ banquet.”

This is the second consecutive year the Sun Devil Club has sponsored the event, which was held annually at ASU until 2008. The 2013 Sun Devil football team will hand out their annual team awards, which include the Frank Kush Captains Award, the Pat Tillman Outstanding Academic Achievement Award and the Tim Landers Iron Man Award.

“The evening offers the chance for current student-athletes, coaches and administrators, the community, alumni and players from different eras of the program to come together to celebrate the latest chapter in Sun Devil football,” Rocky Harris, Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Relations, said.  

All 26 of the team’s seniors will be honored as part of the ceremony, including 2012 consensus All-American Will Sutton, the nation’s current leading scorer Marion Grice, and Chris Coyle, Alden Darby, Evan Finkenberg and Osahon Irabor, among others.  

The three newest members of the Sun Devil Ring of Honor, including Leon Burton, Al Harris and Mike Richardson, will also be recognized during the ceremony.

The banquet’s silent auction will include team merchandise, vacation and golf packages, restaurant certificates, and 2013-14 athletic events and experiences. The grand prize of last year’s live auction was a trip for two to the team’s game vs. Notre Dame in Dallas and included travel on the team charter and sideline passes, among other things.

Table options

Maroon - $1,500 for a table of 10 guests

Gold – $2,000 for a table of eight guests and two football student-athletes

Premium – $5,000 for a table for eight guests and an Assistant Coach or ASU Administrator
