TERRA HAUTE, Ind.—Arizona State cross country’s Shelby Houlihan earned the second All-America honors of her career with an eighth place finish at the 2013 NCAA Championships on Saturday at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center.
Houlihan finished the 6k in 20:20.9, and the finish marks her best at the national met in her career, following her 31st-place finish in 2012 and her 93rd-place finish in 2011.
Houlihan was the lone Sun Devil represented at this year’s championships competition following her exceptional second-place finish at the NCAA West Regional Championships last weekend in Sacramento, Calif.
Dartmouth’s Abbey D’Agostino won the race in 20:00.3, while Providence won the 2013 team crown with 141 points.
ASU now sets its sights on the 2014 track and field season, which begins in January.
