SUN DEVIL DIGITS: The Sun Devil men's hoops team, averaging 86.0 points in its 5-0 start, hosts Marquette on Monday, Nov. 25, at 7 p.m. MT on FoxSports1 (92.3 FM), with Justin Kutcher and Bill Raftery on the call.

--The Sun Devils are 5-0 for the first time since 1985-86 and will look to go 6-0 for the first time since the 1980-81 team of Fat Lever, Byron Scott and Alton Lister were running around in short shorts and notching a 7-0 start.

--ASU is coming off a 70-58 grinder over Bradley on Friday and a fast-paced 86-80 road win vs. UNLV on Nov. 19 when Jahii Carson dropped 40 points as ASU fought back from a seven-point second-half deficit for the win.

--Since Jahii put on a Sparky uniform ASU is 27-13 and averaging 73.4 ppg. In the 40 games prior to Jahii, ASU was 13-27 and averaged 61.9 points per game.

--ASU is 20-4 at home the past two seasons, and that includes wins over NCAA teams Colorado, UCLA and California last season.

HE'S A MAN, HE DROPPED 40: Jahii Carson became the fourth Sun Devil to notch a 40-point game (seven times) when he went 16-of-25 from the floor and had 26 second-half points in the 86-80 win at UNLV on Nov. 19. Only Eddie House (four times), Paul Williams (a second-round NBA pick of the Phoenix Suns in 1983) and The Beard did the same in a Sun Devil uniform.

61-Eddie House at California (2 OT), Jan. 8, 2000
46-Eddie House vs. San Diego State, Dec. 18, 1999
45-Paul Williams at USC, Mar. 10, 1983
42-Eddie House vs. Penn State, Dec. 29, 1999
40-Jahii Carson at UNLV, Nov. 19, 2013
40-James Harden vs. UTEP, Nov. 30, 2008
40-Eddie House vs. UCLA, Feb. 17, 2000

JORDAN BLOCK-CHYNSKI: Jordan Bachynski with 203 blocks is ASU's career leader, topping the Sun Devil record of 191 held by Mario Bennett (1991-95). Next up on the Pac-12 list is Michael Stewart of Cal who had 207 from 1993-1997 and stands fourth on the Pac-12 list. Jordan has a double-double in all five games this year, after entering the season with five in his first  three seasons (89 games).
1. 278 – Anthony Cook (Arizona), ’85-89
2. 258 – Channing Frye (Arizona), ’01-05
3. 253 – Taj Gibson (USC), ’06-09
4. 207 – Michael Stewart (California), ’93-97
5. 203 – Jordan Bachynski (Arizona State), ’10-present

BEST NON-CONFERENCE GAMES AT PAC-12 COURT: If you go by Associated Press preseason rankings, the Sun Devils host the second-best non-conference game in the Pac-12 this season. Looking at schools visiting Pac-12 home courts (toss out neutral sites), only fifth-ranked Kansas at Colorado on Dec. 7 is better than No. 17 Marquette at ASU on Nov. 25. Washington is the only other Pac-12 school to host a ranked non-conference team on its home floor, when No. 18 UCONN comes to town on Dec. 22.

Colorado: #5 Kansas, Dec. 7
ASU: #17 Marquette, Nov. 25
Washington: #18 Connecticut, Dec. 22

DON'T BLAME US: Scoring in D-I men's basketball was at its lowest since 1951-52 last year (67.5 ppg). Meanwhile in Tempe, ASU went from averaging 61.0 ppg. in 2011-12 to 71.8 ppg. in 2012-13.

FIVE RETURNERS: They say a huge key in college hoops is to have a great point guard and solid big man, so ASU has that covered. How good was JAHII CARSON at the end of 2012-13? In the final six games he had heads turning with these digits: 22.5 ppg., 6.0 rpg., 5.0 apg., .551 from the field, .500 from three and .800 from free throw line.He is one three All-Pac-12 first-team players returning (Dwight Powell/Stanford and Spencer Dinwiddie/CU)...JORDAN BACHYNSKI set Pac-12 and ASU season blocks record with 120 last year and needs just 95 blocks to break the Pac-12 career mark set by Anthony Cook (UA/1985-89). After averaging 4.6 points in his first two seasons, he averaged 9.8 points in Pac-12 player made more threes than JON GILLING last year (84), fourth-most by a Sun Devil. He averaged 9.7 points in his sophomore season...sophomore ERIC JACOBSEN played in 32 games last year and weighs a solid 250...junior BO BARNES made 57 three-pointers at Hawaii in 2010-11 before sitting out in 2011-12. The 57 three-pointers is a Hawaii freshman record.

HERB WESTHEAD: Runnin' Devils had 90 in back-to-back tilts  -- 96 vs. UMBC on Nov. 8 and 90 vs. Miami (OH) on Nov. 12 -- for first time since February 17 (104 vs. UCLA) and 19 (93 vs. USC) of 2000 when Eddie House was doing his thing.

MANY GREAT NAMES DIDN'T DO THIS: Jahii Carson averaged 18.5 points and 5.1 assists last season, the first freshman to do that since Chris McGuthrie of Mount St. Mary's notched the feat in 1992-93 (19.8/.5.1).

KEEPING EYE ON THIS: Jordan Bachynski started career 133-of-243 (.547) from the free throw line, but has made 28-of-42 (.667) since.

MARSHALL, MARSHALL, MARSHALL: ASU welcomes a proven scorer in 2013-14, as graduate transfer JERMAINE MARSHALL joined the program in August after playing three years at Penn State. Last year he averaged 15.3 points (sixth in Big Ten), 4.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists and shot .759 from the free throw line (107-of-141). Marshall has 960 career points, 122 three pointers and has knocked down 199-of-265 (.751) free throws. He has posted 10 20-point games (nine) at PSU, and his top three scoring scoring games were against ranked teams.

DeShaun Thomas, Ohio State, 19.8
Trey Burke, Michigan, 18.6
Brandon Paul, Illinois, 16.6
Cody Zeller, Indiana, 16.5
DJ Newbill, Penn State, 16.3
Jermaine Marshall, Penn State, 15.3

29 vs. #18 Michigan State (1/16/13)
27 vs. #13 Michigan (3/4/12)
25 vs. #4 Michigan (2/27/13)
25 vs. Boston College (11/28/12)
23 vs. #22 Wisconsin (3/10/13)
22 at Boston College (11/30/11)
20 at UNLV (11/19/13)
20 at Illinois (2/21/13)
20 vs. #12 Indiana (1/8/12)
20 vs. Lafayette (12/7/11)

SO WHERE WOULD 15.3 PPG STAND IN THE PAC-12?: How big of an addition is Jermaine Marshall from a statistical point of view? Well, he would be tied for the fifth-leading returning scorer in the Pac-12. Take a peek at the top "returning" scorers in the Pac-12 this coming season:

Jahii Carson, Arizona State, 18.5
Joseph Young, Oregon/Houston, 18.0

C.J. Wilcox, UW, 16.8
Jermaine Marshall, Arizona State/Penn State, 15.3
Jordan Adams, UCLA, 15.3
Spencer Dinwiddie, Colorado, 15.3

ASU 88, IDAHO STATE 60 (11/15/13): A game that was tied at 15 saw ASU end the half on a 26-10 run and eventually stretch the lead to 36 (73-37)...Jahii Carson had 19, Jermaine Marshall 17 and Jordan Bachynski added 10 points, 10 boards and six boards...ASU made 12-of-29 (.414) from three-point stripe and got 30 points from its bench.
