WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Nine Arizona State University football student-athletes have been named to the Pac-12 All-Academic teams, Conference Commissioner Larry Scott announced Tuesday.
ASU’s nine selections are tied for the program's most since 2006.
Senior defensive back Marlon Pollard was selected to the first team with a 4.00 GPA in Liberal Studies (Film and Media), and redshirt junior quarterback Taylor Kelly earned a spot on the second team with a 3.17 GPA in Educational Studies.
Seven Sun Devils were named to the honorable mention list, including quarterback Mike Bercovici, defensive lineman Gannon Conway, offensive lineman Jamil Douglas, wide receiver Frederick Gammage, safety Viliami Moekiola, defensive lineman Jake Sheffield and linebacker Grandville Taylor.
Douglas and Kelly were both 2012 honorable mention selections, and this is Taylor’s third honorable mention nod.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
