SUN DEVILS 6-1 UPDATE: The Sun Devil men's hoops team (6-1) meets the College of Charleston on Friday, Nov. 29, at 9 p.m. PT/10 p.m. MT on ESPNU and 92.3 FM in the consolation second round of the Wooden Legacy. The schools have met once, as College of Charleston won a 77-68 tilt on Nov. 27, 1996, in the Great Alaska Shootout. ASU is averaging 81.3 points and 18 assists through seven games. Penn State transfer Jermaine Marshall now has 992 career points entering the game vs. College of Charleston.
TRYING FOR 7-1: ASU will try and go 7-1 for just the sixth time in 36 seasons and for just the fourth time in 22 seasons. It started 8-1 last season. Other top one-loss starts since it joined the Pac-10 in 1978-79 include 12-1 in 2008-09, 11-1 in 2004-05, 9-1 in 1990-91 and 8-1 in 1980-81.
JAHII NOTE: Since Jahii Carson put on a Sparky uniform ASU is 28-14 and averaging 73.0 ppg. In the 42 games prior to Jahii, ASU was 13-29 and averaged 61.3 points per game.
JORDAN BLOCK-CHYNSKI: Jordan Bachynski with 213 blocks is ASU's career leader. Next up on the Pac-12 list is Taj Gibson of USC who had 253 from 2006-09 and stands third on the Pac-12 list. In the first three seasons of his career (89 games), Jordan Bachynski averaged 6.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.03 blocks. This season he is at 12.6 ppg., 10.4 rpg and 4.6 bpg. Jordan had a double-double in the first six games, after entering the season with five in his first three seasons (89 games). He needs 66 to set the Pac-12 career blocks record.
PAC-12 CAREER BLOCKED SHOTS
1. 278 – Anthony Cook (Arizona), ’85-89
2. 258 – Channing Frye (Arizona), ’01-05
3. 253 – Taj Gibson (USC), ’06-09

MARRIOTT POINTS: Jahii Carson is averaging 22.6 points in his 17 games away from home (12 road games and five neutral sites) and is shooting .529 from the field (145-of-274). The Mesa, Ariz., native has 11 20+ point games away from home.
VS. CREIGHTON: Not a whole lot went right vs. Creighton on Nov. 28. Creighton was good, ASU was not and bad free throw shooting didn’t help the cause as ASU was 5-of-14 in the first half and 9-of-20 for the game. Richie Edwards was a bright spot with 12 points off the bench in 23 minutes.
HE'S A MAN, HE DROPPED 40: Jahii Carson became the fourth Sun Devil to notch a 40-point game (seven times) when he went 16-of-25 from the floor and had 26 second-half points in the 86-80 win at UNLV on Nov. 19. Only Eddie House (four times), Paul Williams (a second-round NBA pick of the Phoenix Suns in 1983) and The Beard did the same in a Sun Devil uniform.
