TEMPE, Ariz.—The Arizona State swimming and diving team returns to action this weekend with the women hosting Oregon State at home, Saturday, and a quick turn around trip to Utah on Sunday for a co-ed dual meet.
While the team has not competed together as a whole in the pool since early November, ASU swimmers have still been putting in the work heading into the latter portion of the season schedule. Twelve members, six from both the men’s and women’s side, are coming off momentum-building performances at the USA Swimming AT&T Winter Nationals.
Among those swimmers include Alex Coci from the men’s side and Tristin Baxter from the women’s. Coci broke the Arizona State records in the 100 and 200 Fly, set by none other than himself last season, while Baxter improved the ASU mark in the 500 Free.
Moving into the diving portion of the event, Olympian Riley McCormick has shown elite capability off the board all season, blowing opponents out en route to numerous first-place finishes.
Saturday’s women’s matchup against Oregon State will begin at 10 a.m. MT from ASU’s Mona Plummer Aquatic Center. Sunday’s competition in Salt Lake City for both the men and women starts at noon MT.
