TEMPE – The No. 5 Arizona State University water polo team swept the competition in convincing fashion on Saturday, routing CSU Bakersfield and Occidental to improve its winning streak to three.
ASU (12-6) earned its first MPSF conference victory of the season with a 14-3 victory over CSUB before capping of the day with a dominating 16-1 win over Occidental.
Petra Pardi was the star of the day for the Sun Devils as she scored nine goals in the two games while E.B. Keeve logged 19 saves in one and a half game's worth of action.
The Sun Devils will wrap up the weekend tomorrow as the team takes on Whittier at 10 a.m. PT/MT.

ASU 16, Occidental 1
The Sun Devils picked up their third straight victory with a 16-1 rout over Occidental to finish up the team’s second day of competition at the ASU Invitational.
Petra Pardi continued her phenomenal day with five goals to lead the team while Annie Kertes and Abbey Kerth each added three goals each.
The Sun Devil defense was incredibly stingy, not allowing Occidental to find the back of the net until there was just 2:35 left in the game and ASU leading 15-0 at that point.
Pardi scored all five of her goals in the first half, scoring two in the first and adding a hat trick in the second quarter. In doing so, the junior matched ASU school record with most career games with five or more goals as she accomplished the feat for the fifth time in her career.
Izabella Chiappini scored two goals for ASU while Alkistis Benekou, Ao Gao and kate Enoka all found the back of the net as well.
The Sun Devil goalkeepers split time in the cage as Ianeta Hutchinson pitched a first –half shutout with six saves and no goals allowed. Keeve closed out the game with nine saves in the second half of action.
ASU 14, Bakersfield 3
The Sun Devil water polo team picked up its first MPSF Conference win of the season on Saturday with a rout over CSU Bakersfield, 14-3, in between its other games at the ASU Invitational.
Petra Pardi had four goals in the game while Kate Enoka added three more and the Sun Devils put on a defensive clinic in the second half, holding the Roadrunners scoreless for the dominating victory.
The Sun Devils jump out to an early 2-0 lead in the first quarter but CSUB responded with two goals of its own to even things up. Enoka would get on the board with her first two goals of the game to close out the quarter and give ASU a 4-2 victory through one.
After CSUB came within one with 5:34 left in the half and the score sitting at 4-3, but the Sun Devils wouldn’t let their opposition find the net for the remainder of the game.
The Sun Devils closed out the half with four straight goals and Pardi scored three of her four goals during a 10-0 run to close out the game.
E.B. Keeve was exceptional again in the cage for ASU, logging 13 saves to just three goals against. In two games thus far this weekend, Keeve has given up just four goals to 25 saves.
Annie Kertes added two goals in the contest while Daisy Carter, Alkistis Benekou, Ao Gao, Abbey Kerth and Izabella Chiappini all scored for the Sun Devils as well.
ASU successfully against was solid with a fan down, defending the 5 v. 6 four times on five occurrences.
