WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Sophomore left-hander Ryan Kellogg has been named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week after he threw his second career shutout to power Arizona State University to a 7-0 Territorial Cup win over the University of Arizona on April 26.

ASU shut out the Wildcats in Tucson for the first time since May 11, 1972, behind Kellogg’s third consecutive win and third career start without allowing a run. The win also secured a series win over Arizona and a point in the overall Territorial Cup standings.

Kellogg, who moved to 6-2 on the season and is 17-3 in his career, earned his second career Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week nod and the 64th overall for the Sun Devils. He is the first Sun Devil to earn a weekly award this season.

Kellogg struck out eight, his most in a Pac-12 Conference game in his two-year career, and scattered seven hits and two walks across the nine-inning shutout.

The Wildcats loaded the bases in the bottom of the second inning, but Kellogg struck out catcher Riley Moore to end the frame and went on to retire the next eight batters he faced. He allowed just one runner past second base over the final seven frames as 68 of his 103 pitches were thrown for strikes.

Kellogg now has five outings of at least seven innings this season, and has allowed just one earned run and three walks across the past 24 innings in three wins over conference teams.
