Coach Sendek hired Barret Peery in April after a very successful stint at Indian Hills Community College where he was able to coach incoming Sun Devil Roosevelt Scott. We asked him a bunch of very random questions, and got these somewhat random answers. Here you go...

Who’s your favorite singer/band and album? 80’s rap

Are you a good dancer? When is the last time you danced?...I’m an unbelievable dancer but I wish my wife thought so!

What is one of your favorite quotes and why? Where much is given, much is expected. I like this quote, its very humbling and reminds be how lucky we all are!

What chore do you absolutely hate doing? Loading the dish washer

What is your favorite form of exercise? Jogging

If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be? I’ve loved all my ages and the different times in my life…I don’t really have a favorite.

Who has been the biggest influence on your professional career? My father has influenced me the most in everything I do!

If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be? Arizona State winning the National Championship in Basketball.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? Play a musical instrument, probably piano.

If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet? Dr. Naismith, would love to talk some hoops with him.

If you could know the answer to any question, besides “What is the meaning of life?” what would it be? Why does my body hurt so much in the morning after working out???

When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time? I love to read.

What did you do growing up that got you into trouble? Took my dad’s car for a drive before I had my license.

What is something you learned in the last week? Relationships with people ALWAYS matter.

What’s your favorite TV show of all time and why? The Bachelor/Bachelorette

If you were a character on a TV show, which one would you be? Chris Harrison, the host of the Bachelor/Bachelorette

If you were to write a book, what would the title be? Stay Humble and Hungry!

If someone wrote a book about your life, what would they title it? ‘On the road again..’

What is the last book you read? Mind Gym…Using and Preparing your mind for competition.

Name one thing about yourself that most people don’t know...that is wish that I was a professional water skier.

When I arrived at Arizona State, I had no idea...I had no idea that the WHOLE place was so nice and how supportive everyone is.

Last year at this time I had no idea...That I would be coaching at ASU!

Job where you learned the most from the experience? I was a roofer in college during the summers, it always made me want to get back to school and get my degree, IT WAS TOUGH!!

If you could live during any time period what/where would it be and why? Probably the 30s and 40’s…I loved how all the men wore suits.

Where is the most interesting vacation spot that you have visited? I don’t know if it’s the most interesting but Lake Powell is my favorite vacation spot with my family.

What was the single-biggest challenge of your professional life to date? Getting through the death of a player.

What goes on my pizza...Pepperoni, pineapple, olives and mushrooms

My breakfast consists of...Diet Coke

I am out of bed at (time) and out the door by (time)...Up at 6:30 and gone by 7:30

Most underrated coach you have been around...Bill Evans currently at Idaho State

I wish the President of the United States had (time) years instead of four because...I think 4 years is just right

What I know now that I wish I knew in college...There’s a lot more time in the day than I thought.

What I knew in college that I still refer to today...There’s only one way to get the job done…Work!

Typically, I am in bed and lights are out at...Midnight

Last movie I saw...Frozen…I have 4 kids, I don’t see many grown up movies.:-)

Last non-sporting event I went to (concert, etc.)...My daughters dance recital

What I listen to on the way to work...sports radio

The most played song on my Ipod is...No favorites but plenty of 80’s

My favorite month...March Madness

Something I have not done, but I will...Win a National Championship

What is your favorite holiday and why? Christmas, I love the family time that it brings

What three words would you use to describe yourself? Humble, Driven and Caring

What is your best childhood memory? Playing sports with my dad and friends
