The Hoop Scoop likes the recruits the Sun Devils have on campus for the 2014-15 season. How much? Well, Clark Francis says they are top-5 worthy. He includes this guy in his recruiting recap, which a lot of people won't because he was a transfer.

Take a look at some notes and digits on some of the newcomers below

ROOSEVELT SCOTT (INDIAN HILLS COMMUNITY COLLEGE)
The 6-4 Scott was the leading scorer (17.5 ppg) for an  Indian Hills team that was 34-3 and finished second in the NJCAA Division I national tournament, losing to Jones County (MS) in the title game...named to the all-tournament team at the national tourney, where he averaged 22.5 pts. in four games...led Indian Hills in field goals (202), field goal attempts (389), free throws (153) and free throw attempts (205)...shot .519 from the field, .382 from 3-point range and .746 from the free throw line...also averaged 4.6 rebounds and 2.2 steals...scored in double figures in 29 games and scored 20 or more points 15 times...first-Team All-Region 11.  

WILLIE ATWOOD (CONNORS STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE)
The 6-8 Atwood put up serious digits en route to third-team All-America honors and was the Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference and Region II Player of the Year...averaged 20.8 points last season in leading the Cowboys to a 23-7 season record and was named to the Region II All-Tournament team...was Cowboy head coach Bill Muse’s 14th junior college All-American during his 22-year coaching stint at Connors...scored 953 points to average 15.6 points per game over two seasons...his sophomore season he scored a career high 41 points against Independence Community College and had 11 double-doubles...shot .576 percent from the floor ...270-of-349 for 77.4 percent at the free throw stripe, while pulling down nine caroms per game...also averaged 2.1 assists per game, while making 20 steals and 8 block shots last year.

GERRY BLAKES (SAN BERNARDINO VALLEY COLLEGE)
Gerry Blakes, a 6-4 guard, was named the California Player of the Year and was also named the Foothill Conference Most Valuable Player for a San Bernardino Valley College team that was 29-8 and finished second at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Men's Basketball State Championship, losing in the title game....Inglewood Morningside product was the leading scorer in the Conference, averaging 23.7 points per game, grabbing 182 total rebounds, shooting .398 from beyond the arc and .521 from the field...started 35 games for SBVC and shot nearly 78 percent from the line...scored in double figures in 34 games and had seventeen 20+ point games and three 30+ point games...had a season high 33 points in the first round of the Mesa Fiesta Bowl Shoot Out versus host Mesa Community College on December 27....coached by Sun Devil Quincy Brewer, who played on ASU’s 1995 Sweet Sixteen team and played in 82 games in four years from 1993-97...averaged 17 points in freshman season.
